Hearts & Banner

Good morning everyone!  It's time to start getting ready for Valentine's day!  I had a lot of fun making this card with so many of the beautiful papers from the Paper Temptress store.

For the top portion of the background I used a small portion of "Pink Vintage Patchwork" which is a 6x6 overlay from the package Hambly Overlays #3.   The white background and heart are made from Laser Silver Luster which is one of my favorites!  I used several of the Mica/Metallic paper.  The pink heart is Azalea, the blue heart is Vista.  I used Alpine Aster  and Spring Larch from the Glimmer Cardstock Package 1.  The two parts of the banner that I stamped was stamped onto Heavenly White cardstock.   I don't know if you can tell that the pink heart is popped up a bit from the background and the white heart is popped up on top of the other hearts.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend whether you are dealing with snow, sleet, rain or maybe even sunshine!  Take the time to tell someone that you love them today!  Thank you for stopping by!

Tilda's Heart

I know that Valentine's day is over, really I do!  hehe!  But I feel that every day is a good day to be in love.  I'm a bit of an expert at it because I've been married to my awesome husband for almost 29 years!  Our anniversary is in April and we are more in love now than ever before!  We've raised 4 children together and hope to have grandchildren to spoil someday.
I LOVE all things that have to do with hearts, the color pink and love.  I also love Magnolia stamps and Tilda is holding out her heart today.  I used my favorite paper for coloring copics on which is Cryogen White.  I colored Tilda with my copics and cut and embossed with Spellbinders.
???????????????
Here's a closer look at Tilda.  I haven't used my Magnolia stamps in a while and I was so happy to use this one.  I'll have to dust the stamps off and use more of them because I really enjoyed coloring this Tilda and putting this card together.
????????????????
The card base is 5.5 x 5 inches and is out of Desert Storm Kraft cardstock.   The light pink background is from the  Light Pink from the Text Weight Mica package and the frame and hearts are Azelia.  I love the shimmer on these Mica papers and thought they went well with the Kraft.
I hope you all had a fantastic Valentine's Day.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will come back again very soon!

Owl Love

I can't believe that Valentine's day is just around the corner!   I made this cute card for my Stampin' Up card making group so I made 10 of them!
I had fun putting this cute card together.  These two love birds (ok,they’re owls) are looking at a beautiful moon together.   I used Wild Cherry Pop Tones for the background and tiny heart.  Wild Cherry is also found in Paper Temptresses Valentine’s Day Package which on sale!!
????????
I used Black from the Basis Package for the silhouettes of the owls and branches.   The picture below is darker so that I could show you the shimmer of the moon.  LOVE the Gold Sparkle paper for it’s beautiful shine.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Embossing folder is by Sizzix called “Valentine set”and the punches are from Stampin Up.

Happy Valentine's Day & CHD Awareness Day

Happy Valentine's Day and CHD Awareness Day!

CHD stands for Congenital Heart Defects which my daughter was born with. Just a little fact: 1 in every 100 babies world-wide are born with CHD. Some die before even being diagnosed which is sad because with treatment they could have a great chance at life. My daughter almost died due to late diagnosis. 21 years later I'm still so glad that we got her treatment just in time!

Now on to the Valentine's Day card I made for my hubby. I used the sketch from MojoMonday to make this card. What a great sketch!

I received a shipment from I{heart}Papers and was soooo happy with the masculine paper that I wish I had ordered more! The paper is SEI Moravia. I just might have to place another order! lol The stamp on the front is JustRite Occasions. I used chalks to add a little color to the image but it doesn't show up very well in the photo.

I used Martha Stewart punches, nesties and CM tools to make the layout. The stamp on the inside is Verve's Thankful Hearts. I love that set - so many wonderful sentiments! Back to the paper... look at how it shimmers!

I hope you are having a wonderful Valentine's day and if someone you love is affected by CHD, I'm sending you an extra big (((hug)))!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet!

Oh how SWEET it is! That is what I'll be saying if I win the Gina K's Jan Release Challenge #3! I LOVE Gina K's new releases and my friend, Melanie, has a new release (stamp set) this month called "The Best Things In Life". This set has so many words and phrases that you can use to describe the best things in life. This set is not only great for card making but is especially useful for scrapbooking. This is the set I will choose if I win any of Gina K's challenges this coming week.

Here is what is posted as the challenge by Theresa: "My challenge is to make Something Sweet! Make a card, scrapbook page or other stamping item using the theme "Sweet." It can be something with the word "sweet", some kind of edible "sweet", something for a "sweetheart" or something that makes you say, "ahhh, that is so sweet."

Hopefully my card will not only make you drool for the "sweet" chocolate it holds but that you will also oooooh and awwww and say, "Oh how sweet!".

I used a template that I found on Ellen Hutson's "The Classroom". I printed it up, cut it out, traced it onto doublesided designer print cardstock, scored the two places the template said to score and embellished. What a fun project! I have to thank Ellen for the template and the inspiration she provided.

Thanks for stopping by! I have more cards to show you so please come back. :-)
