With Sympathy

None of us ever want to need a reason to have a sympathy card but in reality we will know someone who loses a loved one so it's always good to keep one or two on hand.   I like to have my sympathy cards convey a soft and comforting feeling.  Butterflies are often used for sympathy cards as a symbol that the loved one has emerged from a cocoon and is flying as free as a butterfly in heaven.  Sadly a dear friend of mine's daughter passed away so I made this card for her.  She has some rough times ahead of her but I'll be there for her especially since it's a road I am continuing to travel.

I used Basis Pink for the background and embossed it with QuicKutz Frame embossing folder.  I stamped the image onto Cryogen White and colored the image with copics.  I used Magenta Vellum for the frame behind the image and the butterflies.  I used one fabric rosette and made the leaves out of Mica/Metallic Emerald.  I LOVE this paper!  I frequently use it for making leaves.

Quick hint: Cut out the center of the vellum before adhering to the back of the image.  You can use that vellum for other projects or to punch out butterflies like I did.

I love how that fabric rosette looks on the card.  I also bent the butterflies in the center before I adhered them to the card so they look like they are flying.  The mini pearl centers are a nice touch.
